Hobbs Says November Election Choice Between ‘Sanity and Chaos,’ Lake Calls Comparison ‘Laughable’

Arizona’s secretary of state and current Democrat nominee for governor says November’s election is a choice between “sanity and chaos,” suggesting that Democrats are the “sane” party.

“First and foremost, this race for governor is, I don’t think, about Democrats or Republicans. It’s really a choice between sanity or chaos,” Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) said on Sunday. “I’m someone who’s battle-tested as a statewide leader, with a track record of working across the aisle to get the job done for Arizonans.”

As Democrats control the U.S. House, Senate and presidency, inflation has skyrocketed as the prices of food and fuel have risen continuously.

Hobbs recognized that fact, but said that she has a plan to battle rising costs.

“What I’m hearing from Arizonans across the state, first and foremost, is the issue of affordability,” she said. “Arizonans are suffering from the highest costs in decades, and we’re experiencing higher inflation relative to other states.”

She also noted that she supports abortion, apparently up until birth.

Hobbs has also been part of the radical transgender movement.

“On the day before International Day of Transgender Visibility, Gov. Ducey has the audacity to sign into law two bills that are blatant attacks on trans Arizonans,” she said in a March tweet. “I stand firm in solidarity with the trans community & we’re going to fight back. Trans rights are human rights.”

In many cases, she attacked opponent Kari Lake, saying Lake’s “first act as the Republican nominee was to fly out of state to speak to a far-right political conference, CPAC in Texas, where she mimicked stabbing John McCain.”

Meanwhile, Lake hit the campaign trail.

At a rally called “Unite and Win” in Phoenix, Lake was joined by popular Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who stumped for her.

He promised to send the National Guard to help her defend Arizona’s borders, should she be elected in November.

“Our government created of the people, by the people, and for the people, that government has now turned against we the people, and we will begin to fight back,” Lake said at the event. “I promise you this, as your governor, Arizona, I will be the biggest pain in the ass Joe Biden’s ever experienced.”

In response to Hobbs’ assertion a Lake campaign spokesperson told The Arizona Sun Times on Monday, “It’s laughable for Katie Hobbs and the far-left Dems to say they’re for sanity when they want the borders wide open, they want to defund the police, woke curriculum in schools, no limits on abortion and want to dismantle the 2nd Amendment.”

The campaign spokesperson added, “Kari Lake is the one with the plan to secure the border, restore law and order, get the homeless off the streets, put education back in the hands of parents, defend life and protect the 2nd Amendment.”
